5 Reasons to Invest in your Home Décor Amelia GrahamMarch 27, 20177 viewslifestyle0 Comments7 views Many of us live alone in apartments, where we have the liberty to play with home décor, redesign the rooms according to certain themes you like. However, if the home you are living in is shared by another person, you will need to think of a very good reason to modify a living space that may be working just fine at the moment. Here are some pretty cool reasons you would want to use as excuses, that is if you really need to have one, in order to convince your roommate or partner to change the style of the room, repaint the walls, get latest window treatments or by spanking new furniture. Here’s a list of reasons you could choose to work on you. 1. You Believe in your Heart that Now is the Time There is no better reason to start redecorating your home, than convincing your partner that now is the time and it has to be done. Bringing in a fresh new appearance to your home can not only help in being a real spirit booster but can also renew your feelings to experience something new. You could initiate by starting small things, one at a time and before you know it you will discover a whole new home. 2. You have just Purchased a New Home Who would want to live in a house that somebody else has decorated, according to their tastes and likes? We’re sure we definitely wouldn’t want to live in one. The first thing to do after moving to a new home is to make it one’s own. This can be done by repainting the walls or splashing brand new wallpaper, installing upholsteries or fabrics to complement the furniture and bedding brought along with you. A number of people avoid decorating the house until it is time to put it on the market. At that moment, they look around and realise that it is time to do something about the cracking wall paint or torn carpet, before it can be shown to prospective buyers. Although a complete makeover may not be altogether required, it can be great if you beautify a home to make it feel welcome to buyers, especially if the house has been neglected for a long time. You will notice interested parties and a better response with a higher pricing if things around the house appear fresh and updated. 4. Your Children have Moved on Often referred to as the ‘empty nest syndrome’, once kids move out of the house to pursue further education or carry on with their lives, it is time to redo the house without having to think about industrial grade flooring or unbreakable furniture. Perhaps, you have always desired a white carpet, a canopy bed or perhaps even a Jacuzzi tub in the bedroom. Now is the opportunity to design and plan your house the way you have always wanted it to be. 5. You have Decided to go Traditional and it Does not Match with what you have Currently You would have been living in a contemporary modern home for a while now, and suddenly you have set your eyes on some valuable antique furniture or traditional pieces of classic furniture that appeals to you strongly. If you have set your mind to incorporate antique furniture, you would have to make a number of changes to the current space you have such as, lighting angles, window arrangements, furniture setup and more. In order to exhibit the new pieces of furniture you’d like to display in your house, you will need to alter the space that you have, in the best way that works for you and to your advantage. Not only will you have fun redecorating the home, you will also discover how the new space mirrors your nature, making you cherish it for years to come. Amelia Graham
