Alexandra Harper Millinery x Disney Stephanie AndersonMay 22, 20144 viewsUncategorized0 Comments4 views London-based milliner, Alexandra Harper Millinery has teamed up with the legendary Walt Disney Company, to produce one-off designer hats and headpieces inspired by the enchanting stories and beloved characters of the company’s most iconic fairytales. Alexandra’s first capsule collection for Disney will tie-in with the upcoming worldwide release of ‘Maleficent’, starring the very beautiful Angelina Jolie and Elle Fanning. Entering into Disney’s world of fantasy, imagination and escapism, Alexandra has been commissioned to design four pieces that reference the dark, dramatic beauty of the story’s leading protagonist, an iconic villain first introduced to the big screen in the 1959 edition of ‘Sleeping Beauty’. After working with the likes of Christian Louboutin, Givenchy, Lulu Guinness, Giles Deacon, Michael van der Ham, Richard Nicoll and Meadham Kirchhoff, Alexandra is the latest designer to be inspired by Disney characters and stories. “Working with Disney is an honour,” explains Alexandra. “Disney films are timeless, and just like Disney characters and their worlds, millinery is all about the fantastical. Drawing inspiration from the villainous ‘Maleficent’ character, the first Alexandra Harper Millinery for Disney collection blends luxurious materials in blacks, purples, and even shocking red with just the right amount of Disney magic.” Alexandra will be producing several collections for Disney over the next two years, with the second collection set to be themed around Peter Pan and Tinker Bell.
