Designer spotlight: Annelise Michelson Stephanie AndersonMay 20, 20143 viewsdesignFashionJewelleryStyle0 Comments3 views Annelise Michelson’s collections Carnivore, Thorny, Sculptural, Algae, Drops, Déchainée and Silicone are a mix of strong warrior-like pieces in gold, gun metal and silver and her collections have a very distinctive, tactile, masculine/feminine feel. Lines are sharp and edgy as seen in the Carnivore collection, suitable for those who possess a strong personality who want to make a fashion statement. In the Sculptural collection, pieces rather contradict the sharpness of the previous collection, with bold and rock-like texture that gives the effect of a wrinkled piece of fabric. The Drop collection compiles very delicate pieces, revealing more detailing and intricacy to the design. The Silicone is a collection of collars that gives the impression of Elizabethan meeting gothic with some elements of bright colours. The creator and founder of the company, Annelise Michelson, was born in Paris and grew up under the influence of her creative family including her artistic parents as well as her godfather who was a professional tailor. After having studied at a fashion design school and worked with a number of fashion designers and house such as Hermes and Vanessa Bruno, throughout the experience she developed her own style. Her journey into the world of jewellery started when Michelson created costume jewellery by hand for a French Vogue shoot after a stylist’s request. Because of this, her passion for jewellery was reinforced and her first collection was launched in 2010. Pieces are produced in limited quantities and hand crafted in France using the finest French materials. Her collection has been seen and popularised by celebrities such as Rihanna, Lady Gaga, Alexa Chung and Rosario Dawson. Priscilla Aroean To see more of the collection, visit
