memobottle – The stylish water bottle for the urban dweller Melanie StockmanJanuary 9, 20158 viewsAccessoriesdesignlifestyleStyle0 Comments8 views The attempts at fitting the standard round water bottle into a briefcase, laptop bag or messenger has become a minor annoyance that many have gotten used to. Often, it’s not worth the hassle. However, we recently discovered the memobottle, that is designed to be shaped like memopad, which most bags are made to carry. memobottle, a creative initiative based out of Australia and California, has addressed this problem by redesigning the round water bottle — into one that’s the shape and size of a textbook or notepad, the ergonomic shape for it to be tucked between your laptop and files. The bottle comes in three different sizes – the A5 holding 750 millilitres, the A4 and letter both holding 1.25 litres. Besides the ergonomic function of the bottle, memobottle aims to fulfil its environmental agenda: to reduce the use of single use plastic bottles. Co-founder Jesse Leeworthy said, “We’ve always been passionate about the environment. For years we have been focused on creative design that provides environmental remedy whilst improving social convenience.” Motivated by the fact that 50 billion plastic bottles are disposed off each year, and less than 40% of that number is being recycled, they aim to kill two birds with one stone by reducing the number of people who tell themselves that they can buy a drink later due to the hassle of bringing a reusable bottle. Melanie Stockman Memobottle is expected to ship by late January 2015. Pre orders are available by clicking here.
