This week we visited, somehow for the first time, the Duke of York Square Fine Food Market in Chelsea,  we cannot believe we have spent our Saturday mornings elsewhere for the past however-many-months! It was a gorgeous sunny day, a fresh chill in the air, and as we walked down Kings Road, the air was suddenly packed with mouth watering aromas and the sweet sound of bubbling champers.

Every Saturday morning, Duke of York Square hosts its fine food market, showcasing fresh local produce from cuisines the across the globe, from Japanese gyoza to Swiss cheeses.  We happily obliged in joining London’s elite, strolling around the square packed with sumptuous stalls sipping Moet, lapping up the tasty samples and naturally being lured in for more.

Countless flavours of fudge lined one of the outlets – we couldn’t resist the Vanilla & Oreo and ChocoMallow flavours. Definitely worth a try. We also tried the freshly cooked Japanese dumplings soaked in fiery chilli oil and sharp soy, and some wild beef Mexican empanadas by Chango, wrapped in perfectly crisp, fluffy pastry.

Other delicacies included plump stuffed olives, tantalising salt beef and freshly cooked burgers, washed down with a full bodied, deep Ethiopian coffee and sweetened off by quaint mini cupcakes by Peggy’s Cupcakes. If you haven’t been, you must get yourself to Duke of York Square in Chelsea, just off Sloane Square on Saturday mornings for a real taste of London’s finest street foods.
