Another 8: Urban high street meets designer Stephanie AndersonApril 27, 20143 viewsdesignFashionStyletrends0 Comments3 views Another 8 seek a clear niche in fashion; ‘mass produced high-street fashion with the often unattainable designer’. Involving the best of both worlds of design and high street that has too often been assumed it is either one or the other. The beauty and exclusivity of designer holding hands with the high street look affordable and on trend. Another 8 play with art and graphics along with fashion, flirting with different textures and embroidery. Another 8 launched two collections in December 2013; Minimal House and 90s Jungle with S/S’14 launched in February 2014. Stemming from local London artists and graphic design talent producing a form of art and finding a niche in the fashion industry, escaping from the mediocrity of much fashion without going to the extreme of ‘unattainable designer labels’. Minimal House possesses leathers; easy-to-wear sports luxe separates, and textured pieces from leather to embroidery. The more urban inspired 90s Jungle offer bold pieces such as slogan T-shirts and animal prints. The beauty of Another 8 and these two collections is its fluctuation with pattern colour and texture. The endless stream of imagination in this company is admirable and inspiring from the ‘Annie’ jacket to the ‘Arla’ Jacket reflects Another 8’s capacity to flow from designer to high street and a subtle mixture of both.
