Leisure Project Store recently presented its spring/summer 2014 collection under the name: “Flower Boy”. The collection took influences from the painting “A boy with a pipe”, one of Pablo Picasso’s outstanding masterpieces during his “Rose period”.

He used a lot of vibrant colours including pink, orange and nude, and the painting was a result of his emotions and relationship with his first love Fernande Olivier.

Leisure Project Store has taken this story of love and romance and remixed it with its own aesthetics to produce a collection that is delicate and soft but yet retains the fun and youthfulness of the brand’s identity.

The key looks of the season feature oversized tops with patchwork techniques and handmade details including hand sewn pearls, loose fit washed chambray trousers with elasticated waist detail, signature flower anchor embroidered T-shirt and unisex T-shirt with slogans that express different feelings related to love including ‘Love me’, ‘Love me not’ , ‘Born to Love’, ‘Love is blind’ and ‘Romantica’.

The main colour palette was taken from Picasso’s “A boy with a pipe” painting including: pink, beige and mint green with touches of basic tones such as white, grey and navy. The floral print and oil paint brush strokes print serve to highlght the collection with baseball caps, embroidered with this season’s slogans ‘Love’ and “Love me, Love me not” brings together the key looks for Leisure Project Store’s Spring/ Summer 2014 collection.

The main materials include: cotton, washed chambray, floral and oil paintbrush strokes print, metallic coated linen and various jacquards were chosen to give a cheerful and comfortable feeling. Handmade decoration techniques such as hand quilting, patchworks, hand-sewn pearls and embroideries are used to add an extra dimension and an extra detailing to the collection.
