YR STORE x Supermarket Sarah: #URBANTROPICANA Imogen McGillMay 11, 20152 viewsFashion0 Comments2 views Interactive digital print specialists YR STORE have joined forces with creative stylist and visual merchandiser extraordinaire Sarah Bagner, aka Supermarket Sarah, to create a dreamy summer collaboration that is set to launch in Topshop Oxford Circus on 13th May 2015. Entitled #URBANTROPICANA, the collection is a limited edition range of garments and accessories that will feature Supermarket Sarah’s designs with the distinctive palm tree logo across YR STORE tees, leggings, sweatshirts, socks and iPhone cases. With both YR STORE and Supermarket Sarah based in Hackney, Sarah was inspired to create a collection that combined the idea of beach holidays on sunny, palm-filled beaches to contrast with the urban home of both brands. Having recently collaborated with Nike, MTV and BAPE, YR STORE have also commanded space on some of the capital’s most desirable shop floors, including Liberty and Selfridges, with their own pop-up stores also appearing on Carnaby Street and at Boxpark. YR’s specially developed software and high specification digital print process enables customers to create patterns and see them printed onto garments right on the shop floor. Using YR’s large scale, interactive touch screens, consumers create and customise prints by manipulating colours, adding text, layering foreground elements over existing background designs, or even creating their own completely unique patterns. This collaboration will see Supermarket Sarah’s exclusively created artwork installed on YR STORE’s interactive touch screens so that Topshop customers can create bespoke patterns and prints. Blossoming from first meeting at a trade show on the future of retail, Sarah’s partnership with YR STORE will also see her sell the collection through her merchandised “walls” on her website. Sarah said, “I was intrigued by YR STORE’s revolutionary live printing retail experience, and our brands seem intrinsically linked through a love of fun online retail experiences.” Sarah curated a special #URBANTROPICANA wall at YR STORE’s head office in Haggerston which was shot by photographer Adam Laycock and will be available for customers to purchase online, as well as in store at Topshop Oxford Circus.
