The Residency is Open: The House of Peroni Residency Review Megan SharpMay 14, 20158 viewslifestyle0 Comments8 views Looking for a new trendy place to enjoy with your friends? A social hub with like minded people sipping cocktails, people watching and tasting exquisite Michelin starred food? Well, The House of Peroni has you covered. The Clothes Maiden have returned to 152 Brick Lane to see what Peroni have created from the vast empty space it was a month ago and are happy to say we are amazed by the transformation. Last night we were invited to the open night and the place was buzzing with people, giving life to Peroni’s dream of an open Piazza, all enjoying the array of cocktails and sampling the finger food designed by Michelin starred chef Accursio Craparo. The space itself has undergone a major transformation; entering via a door simple labelled ‘The House’ you are met by a wall and are directed upstairs to the left where you can drink and dine whilst overlooking the Piazza below; here you are intended to ‘people watch’ while the crowd below mingle and sip cocktails. Once you are ready to join the party downstairs you are invited outside, enticed by a beautiful floral display, an outdoor bar and cosy seating area. Peroni have even provided entertainment in the form of an outdoor cinema playing Italian classics in a cosy little hub hidden behind the building itself. Back inside you can watch the kitchen staff as they prepare the food or watch mixologist Simone Caporale and team create steam enthused cocktails and other alcohol delights. Light artist Luminarie De Cagna has created a wonderful backdrop to the area with huge blue and red circular lighting displays while sculptor Rebecca Louise Law has created a stunning floral display bringing life and a visual focus point to the Piazza. Of course if you are lucky enough to try the food then you may be interested in the little shop residency ‘Emporio Strazzanti’, where you can purchase some of the ingredients exclusively available at The Residency, bought over from Sicily. Set designer Simon Costin and The House of Peroni have done a marvellous job transforming the space into what it is today. It has been a pleasure seeing how they have given life to their dream of the Italian Piazza. A truly wonderful experience to enjoy in the heart of London. Megan Sharp Open now for a one month long residency closing on the 10th June 2015. Click here for more information on the House of Peroni Residency.
