Dreaming of spring – S/S trends: 2014 Stephanie AndersonMarch 16, 20143 viewsBeauty0 Comments3 views You can’t blame us for fantasising about the springtime right now; daffodils, colour returning to the landscape and sweet sweet sunlight gracing our isle again. With the torrential storms we’re been suffering through the past few months, I for one have the bad weather blues. When rushing around the soaked landscape under a little umbrella has turned into daily routine, there isn’t really a better time to drift off to a warmer reverie and day-dream about what spring/summer 2014 has to offer us, is there? Dolce and Gabanna wetted our appetite for the warmer months to come with their soft roman crown style hair styles, with delicate flowers intertwined throughout; showcased at their spring/summer 14 show a few months back. The hair was styled by Guido Palau, with obvious inspirations coming from greek myths to true romance. Their models were looking like spring goddess’ in bohemian braids, with flowers winded through to create ultra-feminine updo’s. The flowers were accompanied by gold medallions and the odd gem hair piece; pinned into the braids, complimented by dangling Grecian earrings. I’m besotted with this look. Every model was a total delight to look at with every hairdo maintaining it’s own unique styling throughout the show. With the little treasures pinned up into fanciful curls; the whole style was all totally reminiscent of the fairies of a Midsummer Night’s Dream – which makes me adore it even more. One of our favourite stand out beauty looks, fresh off the fashion week catwalks is also somewhat dreamy; the doe-eyed cat liner look, reimagined by incorporating flecks of sparkle under the eye, created by Chanel. Perhaps a little bit of a statement eye for some, however the look could easily be reimagined and tweaked for to suit the occasion, and like Chanel, the cat eye is effortlessly chic. The juxtaposition of the dark lack liner with flecks of sparkle in the inner eye, painted across the outer and inner lower lash line makes the eye look in incredibly bright and wide, creating a gleaming spring look that i’m rather enamoured with. Even just a little sparkle in the inner corner of the eye will freshen up any look and make give you a bright eyed wakeful gaze and be particularly on trend while doing do.
