It Girl Saltana Bekturova Gives Us the Inside Scoop On Life As a Fashion Blogger The Editorial TeamDecember 7, 201577 viewsFashion0 Comments77 views This month we interview Fashion Blogger Saltana Bekturova from The Girl is Fierce. Saltana’s based in London and has some serious style going on 24/7 to inspire our next A/W’15 outfit. We get the inside scoop of what it’s like to be a blogger in the big city. What made you want to start a blog? Growing up, my life has always revolved around style. I would watch ice-skating championships on TV and be utterly mesmerised by the beautiful sparkly dresses the skaters wore for their performances, or equally I would spend hours admiring the stunning couture collections showcased on fashion channels. I didn’t know anything about blogosphere until about a year and a half ago, when one of my best friends mentioned that perhaps I should start a blog. People would always compliment my choice of wardrobe, and I love fashion, so it felt natural to go in this direction. What is your blog about? The Girl is Fierce is a fashion-forward style getaway, full of positive connotations. It’s a stylish journey set out to inspire people every day to follow their dreams and achieve their goals. Every article on #theGIF has a meaningful story and compelling visuals. What inspires you? Nature. I admire and draw inspiration from Mother Earth every day, you just need to stop for a minute and look around to see the beauty of this world. It’s really precious! What are your staple pieces? My daily routine is so fast paced and I am always on the go, so my go-to fashion items are black skinnies, light-knit sweater and a pair of ballerinas. Even though I wear stilettos for most of the day, I always keep a pair of comfy flats in my bag, in case of emergency. What is your daily beauty routine? “Less is more” is my motto when it comes to beauty. I am not a fan of extravagantly excessive make-up for everyday, because it can clog up the pores and just feels very unnatural. I just tend to go for a fresh faced look, always making sure my skin is clean and well moisturised. Presentable hair and manicured nails are also a daily must. What is the best beauty advice you have ever been given? Drinking plenty of water, good food, exercising consistently and a good night’s sleep. Hat, Sleeveless Coat, Polo Neck, Skirt, Bag: ZARA // Boots: ALDO (Saltana Bekturova @ The Girl is Fierce) What is something you wouldn’t leave home without? We live in a digital era, so it’s really hard to go by without a mobile phone. As sad as it sounds, I can’t leave the house without my phone and an umbrella. I live in London and it rains a lot here. Which fashion direction are you into these two seasons? I love monochrome. It’s probably safe to say that I have styled a lot in monochrome this year. It’s so versatile and effortless, works every single time. Seventies vibe is pretty powerful as well. Loved the suede fringe effect and flares this summer. Fedora hats are my thing for this winter. Recently I invested in a couple of cool felt hats and have been wearing them on a daily basis since. The Editorial Team Click here to visit Saltana Bekturova’s blog ‘The Girl is Fierce’.
