Classic Summer Style Tips Avery ParkerApril 22, 201715 viewsFashion0 Comments15 views With summer coming our way soon, we always like to look back on some key styles which will fill out our wardrobe year on year. It doesn’t matter what kind of trends might be around, or what the latest big thing is – there are always a few bits and pieces that will last through the whole summer, every single year. These are the style staples that we turn to again and again, and which should never be absent from your wardrobe. If you are looking for some summer inspiration, these are the pieces that we fully recommend! A Loose-Fitting Top Source There is absolutely nothing worse than getting all hot and sweaty in the summer sun. We just hate the idea of being caught out with huge pit stains that everyone can see! Unfortunately, it can happen to all of us, so you have to be prepared. The best thing to do is wear a loose-fitting top on hot days. You can also rely on tunics and similar styles to give you that slightly wider gap around the armpit which will protect you from an embarrassing look. Then all you need is a good deodorant and some body spray in your handbag, and you are good to go! A Long Flowing Skirt Source This is a really important one for us. There are days when you just feel like it’s too hot to wear trousers, so you have to go for a skirt or dress. But that doesn’t mean it has to be short. Maybe you haven’t had time to shave your legs, or you walked into a table yesterday and have a nasty bruise on your shin. Why would you want to show that off? A long and flowing skirt is perfect for retaining your style, keeping cool, and also covering up. It’s pretty much a wardrobe wonder. A Pretty Summer Dress Source That said, there are days when a summer dress is all that will do. In order to avoid the common pitfalls of seasonal trends, we like to go for a really classic look. A 1940s style tea dress will always be elegant and beautiful, while a floral or polka dot print will add a lot of interest. Just be sure to go for a style that you could have worn 10 years ago and you could imagine being worn 10 years from now. If it doesn’t fit both criteria, then it is not a classic wardrobe staple. Simple as! A Pair Of Denim Shorts Source Although they may not have been appropriate in the 1940s, denim shorts have been around for a long time – and they do seem as though they are here to stay. Just keep them long enough that you could walk into your grandmother’s house without feeling awkward, and you’ll be fine. Whether you go for a distressed look, a clean cut, frayed edges, or an interesting colour, this is still a style classic. It’s perfect for any beach trip or shopping mall. Avery Parker We always make sure to top up our wardrobe with at least one of these styles yearly, and especially so if we end up throwing one of our old variations away. They will get you through the whole summer if you let them!
