Native Youth S/S’16 Collection Edith ZamoraFebruary 26, 20164 viewsFashion0 Comments4 views The inspiration for the Native Youth S/S’16 collection stems from the same Cubist theme prominent in men’s. Mark making and abstract prints influenced by the art movement have been infused with graphic coastal prints and seaside tones. New season silhouettes include stylish wide-legged jumpsuits and voluminous denims, perfect for those sunny days. Clean shapes are contrasted with raw edge finishings and textured seersucker jerseys and jacquards. Ever present core colours of navy, white and grey make up the colour palette and are complimented by bursts of burnt oranges and strong kiwi prints to offer a harmonious aesthetic to the collection. Native Youth collaborated with textile and print designer, Lauren Bouch for the lookbook art direction. The team were drawn to Bouch’s expressive style, distinctive mark making techniques and use of unusual mediums to create large scale artworks During the lookbook shoot, Lauren Bouch simultaneously created multiple paintings on 8ft canvases inspired by the movements and prints present on the day. These were later curated and transferred to the pages of the seasons lookbook. Edith Zamora The S/S’16 collection launches online at the end of February. Native Youth is also available across select stores within UK, Europe, USA, Canada, Asia and Australia.
