Our Prince of Peace: The all-American über cool brand Stephanie AndersonFebruary 15, 20142 viewsdesignStyle0 Comments2 views Our Prince of Peace (O.P.O.P.) is the amazing, innovative clothing line, designed by David Jon Acosta, the young 27 year old who created his brand in his studio apartment. The amazing line has now been developed into a full range collection and is available at over 50 stores worldwide. Acosta claims “My customer is the girl in the room that you want to get to know better, and is not afraid to wear something striking. She’s a free- spirited road tripper that listens to classic rock and loves to swim in salt water waves.” Featuring bold prints, cross back straps and clever cutouts, O.P.O.P. is a go- to brand for stylists and fashion editors alike. The idea for the name of the brand, apparently comes from religious references. Acosta said “In the Bible, Jesus is referred to as the Prince of Peace, and while I’m far from Christ-like, fashion has always been a saviour to me.” Acosta grew up in Miami, and claims he has always been obsessed with bright bold prints. He frequently pulls inspiration from his hometown, and features a lot of subtle 90s influences. Nowadays, the base for O.P.O.P. is in the East Village of New York City.
