Evil Twin 2014: Sucker Punch Stephanie AndersonJanuary 6, 20140 viewsdesignFashionStyle0 Comments0 views January is all about reinvention, and what better way to start afresh then by giving your wardrobe a radical makeover? Evil Twin are the perfect brand to try if you fancy adding a bit of grunge-glam into your life, thanks to their their latest collection, Sucker Punch. Designed for those who ooze effortless cool out of every pore, the Sydney based clothing chain once again demonstrates a collection that is grungy yet feminine, with hard lines but chaotic prints. We’ve seen a huge resurgence of tartan this season which is combined here with 90’s-esque bleached denim and ripped jeans. Pieces are designed to be styled in a Kurt Cobain / Judd Nelson style whilst still keeping an edge of femininity. Tailored silhouettes and cut out detailing keeps the outfits light and adds breathability to some of the heavier designs. A nod to the lucid and angsty tone of grunge and punk is shown via a variety of optical illusion prints, perfect for when you need to make that individual statement. Geographic shapes are mixed with much softer designs, and expect a few skulls thrown in for good measure. Of course, what would a come-back kid collection be without a smattering of animal print (the “Wild Pride” blocked woven tank)? Also again, the monochrome print is not going anywhere this year and is the perfect way to add a wild, tear away accent to your outfit. If a full on plunge into grunge is a bit too intimidating for you, try picking out just a couple of interesting pieces and mix them in with your existing wardrobe. Donna Knott Evil Twin is available via their website, Asos and Urban Outfitters.
