Interview: Paige Joanna – illustrator The Editorial TeamJuly 1, 20142 viewsArtinterview0 Comments2 views Please tell us a bit about yourself Paige? I am a recent graduate from Portsmouth Uni, with an illustration degree. I love my online fashion blog and anything creative! What inspired you to begin your artistic career? Nothing really inspired me as such, it’s something I have always loved and i’ve never seen myself doing anything else! Being creative is the only thing i’m good at and I love all aspects of art, fashion and craft. It is so hard to pin point any one thing that inspires me every day to want to be in this industry, i simple just love it. What do you do when you’re not using your creative brain? I am probably blogging, I love photography and sharing a part of my life online and styling is really fun! I also spend time with friends and shop a lot! To be honest with you any free time I am I still end up making things like dresses or draw little cards for people!! Do you have any favourite artists out there? I really love Miss Led, a blogger and shop called every day is a holiday and Caitlin shearer. Who’s your personal style icon and why? I really love Lily Allen at the moment, I think she has made a real come back and her short dark bob always makes me want to cut my hair! I also really love Carrie from wish wish wish among many other bloggers! I like more relate able women not big celebs. Do you have a favourite piece of artwork? My personal favourite of mine is probably my Lana Del Rey one, as I just love the colours and I spent hours if not days on it. It is one i’ll always be proud of. I also like my more sketchy watercolours. Any exciting projects in the pipeline? I have some exciting bloggy type things and an amazing illustration client work I’ll be working on for the summer, I can’t give anything away though. How do you see yourself in five years time? I want to live in London with my boyfriend, working in a creative office, agency or possibly running my own business. No matter what my job title I want to come home to my bright airy apartment feeling content in the job I am in, even if it’s tiring or whatever I know I want to do something creative. I’d love to never stick to one thing either because I love so many creative outlets and would hate to get tied down to one thing all the time.
