With more than six million people from around the world attending the 16 day folk festival every year, you need to be prepared when it comes to organising how to get there and where to stay. Oktoberfest takes place in Munich: on the so-called Theresienwiese, a 100 acre space, not far from the Old Town and in the middle of Munich’s Ludwigsvorstadt-Isarvorstadt district.
