Interview With Top Fashion Blogger Sisters Amra and Elma Beganovich

Amra Beganovich and Elma Beganovich are two sisters and digital influencers, with a following of around 1.5 million on social media. They are the founders of amraandelma.com, their personal lifestyle blog, and clubfashionista.com, an invite-only blogging platform dedicated to high quality content. Both are based in Manhattan, so we caught-up to get up close and personal and get an inside scoop on their beauty and style secrets. Here is what they had to say:

Where are you from? Can you tell us a little bit about where you grew up?
After having lived in seven countries, we often ask ourselves the same question. Our origins are Bosnian (from Sarajevo), and we grew-up all over the world—Finland, Germany, France, Spain, Belgium, England and the U.S.

Where do you spend most of your time now?
Although we travel constantly (we’re heading to L.A. this weekend), we spend most of our time New York City.

What does a day in the life of yourself look like?
We spend a lot of time in meetings with PR firms and clients, on styling the wardrobe and hair/make-up for photoshoots, shooting editorials for our clients, and working hand-in-hand with our team—they help to keep us on schedule and our heads above the water.

Where are some of your favourite places to shop?
We are huge fans of antiques and consignment shops, where you can find gems that you can almost bet that a very few will own. Also, when shopping for antiques and consignment goods, there are so many pieces upon which you can stumble on that are so different: they stand out and are certainly conversation starters.

What does a perfect weekend look like to you?
Since we work so much, a perfect weekend consists of laying on the beach, in sort of a zen state, where you inhale all of the peace, fresh air and the natural beauty that surrounds you. After which, we like to go to quiet dinners, filled with friends, laughter and great food.

What are three things you can’t live without?
We’re not sure if family, friends and laughter qualify as “things” but these would be our top three, which we could not do away with. Wardrobe and/or beauty items, we would have to stay a red matte lipstick, moisturiser and an eyelash curler.

In five years, where do you see yourself?

What does being ’stylish’ mean to you both?
We believe that “stylish” means being timeless; it is not a trend that fades in one season but an iconic style that remains admirable 10 or 20 years from now. A few timeless icons are Jackie Kennedy Onassis, Brigitte Bardot and Lauren Hutton, whom all remain admired throughout decades.
