Band Spotlight: URBANO

Let us introduce you to the band URBANO. They are an urban pop duo from the suburbs of Philadelphia. They realised their love for music at a young age and started to pursue solo music careers. John ( ½ of URBANO) started recording his raps in a studio at the age of 16. He began working with producer and engineer, Will Yip. Following in his footsteps, Ris (the other ½ of URBANO) started her singing career, recording her songs with Will as well. With every step in the learning process, they started networking with many different producers, engineers and other artists such as Huey Mack, Reed Dollaz, Danimal Lector and Jitta On The Track. They each put out a solo mixtape/EP, but they still wanted to work together. Ris and John really wanted to share something that was not only a collaborative effort, but also very unique.

Bringing them closer together, they decided to make their band URBANO. Their eclectic style merges together as John raps and Ris sings to form all their songs. They recently just finished their amazing debut album “Royal Family” and launched it only days ago! The duo recorded their eleven track album at Milkboy Studios in Philadelphia with producer and engineer Joe Logic. It took them about three years to complete and perfect this project, but let us tell you – it was well worth the wait! They are making waves on blogs, stream sites and websites being highlighted for this new album. They have a great sound. Certainly worth check out their debut album Royal Family on their SoundCloud. This duo will definitely be continuing to bring us more banging music!
