Be:FIT London 2015 – Festival Review Sophie DyerMay 5, 201514 viewslifestyle0 Comments14 views Taking over the Islington Design business centre this weekend was the Be:FIT London festival, celebrating all things health and fitness. The three day event celebrated women’s health including health evaluations, cookery demonstrations, stalls full of fitness goodies from food to fashion and of course some intense classes for the attendees to try. As well as this the event also hosted a number of inspirational seminars with the likes of Rebecca Adlington, Denise Lewis, Victoria Pendleton and Madeline Shaw to name a few inspiring people through fitness and wellbeing. Be:FIT London was a haven for all things health with a number of big brands such as Vita Coco, Total Greek, Nakd and Upbeat dominating the food category. Of course sampling the goodies was absolutely necessary research and since all of them being healthy and good for the body it was guilt free also! The food was delicious and like most foodie inspired events, there was something for everyone, gluten free, dairy free, meat free, lactose free, you name it-they had it! Encouraging people who want to adopt a healthier way of life that there really is no excuse not to eat well, regardless of your dietary requirements. The Barre by FRAME workout, led by Ida May in the Reebok Fitness studio was our favourite part of Be:FIT London. It was a ballet fitness fusion workout that was short, intense and left our legs shaking after. It’s essential that in any fitness class you have a good, motivating instructor to lead you on and Ida May was just that. Full of energy and enthusiasm, she made the time fly. The fact that she was very friendly and informative, chatting to people after the workout despite dripping in sweat only added to her charm! The environment of being surrounded by hundreds of fit, positive women was a great one to workout in, inspiring us to improve our fitness. The atmosphere was uplifting and not at all intimidated. These sorts of festivals need to become more frequent as encouraging people to love and care for their body is something that needs to be sung from the rooftops.
