BEVZA S/S’14: The Shower Stephanie AndersonNovember 23, 20132 viewsdesignFashionStyle0 Comments2 views It’s rather rare to find a designer that gains inspiration from a bathroom floor, and yet Ukraine womenswear brand BEVZA decided to think outside the box (or rather bath), still managing the difficult task of maintaining a sense of class and elegance despite their strange influence. Founded in 2006 by designer Bibi Bevza and recognised for their crisp cuts and sharp tailoring, the brand’s S/S’14 collection appropriately entitled “The Shower” focuses on the freshness of the woman’s classic morning ritual; clean, straight lines, bold shapes and white being the prominent colour, the garments invoke the feeling of a morning shower, a time for peace, tranquillity with a sense of airiness. For BEVZA, minimalism is key; simple separates with sharp lines and puffed sleeves, straight cut mini dresses gently cinched at the waist and geometric printed PVC in the style of a classic bathroom tile. The collection is for the strong, independent woman who knows what she wants and isn’t afraid to show off a bit of skin. Our favourite? An asymmetric rose coloured sheath dress that looks like a piece of vinyl wrapped around the waist – a unique and attention grabbing piece that will surely inspire! The new collection also offers an array of accordant accessories including, sandal slippers, clutches resembling soap holders and jewellery in the shapes of shower hoses. With all of this to look forward to, one thing’s for sure – this collection is definitely a breath of fresh air.
