Blogging Masterclass: Lily Melrose Announces Book Release Sophie PrescottApril 27, 2015129 viewslifestyle0 Comments129 views In this day and age, it is a well known fact that blogging is bigger than ever. With thousands of different sites dedicated to fashion, beauty, lifestyle and more, it’s becoming more and more difficult to get noticed in the vast blogosphere and to stand out against the crowd. This is where successful blogger, Lily Melrose (or llymrs to some) comes in. With 166,000 YouTube followers, 10,799 Facebook likes and 64,300 Twitter followers, it is fair to say Lily has well and truly cracked the art of blogging, and now she’s sharing everything she knows in a hotly-anticipated book. Back in 2009, Lily started her popular blog, llymrs.com as a Graphic and Media Design undergraduate, which soon gained popularity when she started to post more on her unique personal style. Now at 24 years of age, she is a fully-fledged fashion, beauty and lifestyle blogger, dedicated to daily posts to please the many thousands of people that follow her. Her blog is a no-nonsense, unpretentious style bible, unafraid to mix staple pieces with the latest finds at Primark, breaking away from the elite stereotype of high fashion bloggers. It is her honesty and down-to-earth character which has gained her such a dedicated following – and she is equally as modest when announcing the release of her book. “To me, writing a book was such a daunting task really and a HUGE challenge for someone who isn’t a trained writer and isn’t even really that academic” she writes, “I just wanted to share the thing that I’m most knowledgeable and passionate about – and that’s blogging.” The book aims to give advice and inspiration to aspiring bloggers as well as established ones who are looking to try and expand their own popularity. As well as the creative parts, Lily also covers practical matters: “it’s going to cover things from social media plans, content management, how to get inspired, how to name your blog and how to make the jump from hobby to full time blogging”. Following the controversy of claims that Zoella’s book, Girl Online, was ghost-written, it’s refreshing to hear that Lily will be the brains behind her own book, from writing to creating images. Although it hasn’t got a definitive release date yet, we can expect the book to be published in September, when we can finally get hold of Lily’s blogging wisdom first-hand. An essential read for both avid readers of llymlrs.com and aspiring bloggers, this is a release not to be missed.
