Ontario’s Chastity have unveiled the vital new video for their snarling track ‘Saliva’. The video depicts an interacial gay couple kissing in front of a huge projection of TV news footage depicting the everyday atrocities of crime, war and terrorism. Inviting the viewer to question why homophobia exists when there are so many abhorrent problems in the world, the video to ‘Saliva’ is a powerful accompaniment to the brutal track.

The video was first premiered at Toronto exhibition space Videofag who described the video as: “The song, accompanied by video, is about conscientiousness, it’s a staring contest with ignorance and it isn’t about to blink. It’s discomfort for those given no reason to feel uncomfortable in the first place. It hopes to be a getting out of the way of inherited or old ignorance. Ambitious, it hopes to be an opportunity for compassion, for individual and social progress and awakening. It’s two boys kissing.”

Despite only forming this year, the band have made a huge impact with a series of demos they placed online and have already shared stages with Noy Joy, Nai Harvest and Priests. ‘Saliva’ will be released on cassette along with b-side ‘You’re Scary Now’ on November 13th 2015.
