Designer Spotlight: Amy Laura Smith Ellana BlandJune 22, 201535 viewsFashion0 Comments35 views Amy Laura Smith introduces dainty yet eccentric tops to the world of fashion and we can’t get enough of each design. The young designer wanted to create “magical” clothing that you couldn’t find anywhere else. She started collecting fabrics with lots of embellishments and began making halter neck tops. This style has been an ever turning trend in fashion since the 1970’s, and usually found in selections of solid colours, Smith had an idea to recreate the basic garment to make the ultimate fashion statement. Amy is still very new to the fashion world and does not consider herself a designer; she simply “makes clothes.” The line offers a mix of vintage and high street looks incorporating all of Amy’s own personal style. ALS collection is a classic spin on contemporary style. Halter neck tops were a perfect hit because of their diversified adoption; the look can be paired with high waisted skirts or jeans, or can simply be used to layer (no pressure to show off any midriff). Amy enjoys an eclectic style, collected from high street shops and retailers like Topshop and New Look. This fun and free designer wants her followers to feel “magical” in these offbeat designs. Amy Laura Smith clothing was created as a different approach to a timeless design. These creations are suppose to make women feel like mermaids, completely, limitless and beautiful. It’s all about women feeling confident and beautiful with their shape. Amy’s keys to success includes being down to earth. 2015 marks the first official year of business for Amy and for the summer, she’s thinking of making bikinis. She wants to stay true to the ever retro halter neck top which will play a huge role in the summer line. Moving along to the autumn, Smith wants to start incorporating some menswear. A men’s collection is a dream, it’s been a couple of collections without it and Amy is hoping to be able to create some of her ideas and put them to good use.
