Designer Spotlight: NIRO WANG S/S’16 Collection Melanie StockmanJanuary 26, 20162 viewsFashion0 Comments2 views NIRO WANG is London’s foremost fashion house specialising in linen. Challenging one of the world’s oldest fabrics, they push linen’s physical potential beyond its traditional boundaries, adapting it for modern living. Throughout eat collection, you can see they are passionate about the flax fibre, be it for its organic, eco-friendly aesthetic, its distinctive texture or eccentric character. NIRO WANG wants to transform any stereotype for younger generations that linen fabrics or garments really only belong in granny’s wardrobe. To do this, they seek and develop every possibility to make linen more exciting and interesting for people who have a curious desire to explore nature and truly love the outdoors. NIRO WANG aims to explore and strike balance between juxtaposing elements found in everyday life: urban and natural, destruction and regeneration, the fast and the slow, organic and synthetic. They are not afraid of peculiarities or imperfections and often prefer them; as they believe those delicate flaws are what make us human. Niro, the designer of the brand, is originally from Beijing, China. Before moving to London in 2009 to study fashion, Niro trained in oriental dance, where he learnt the philosophy of balance and movement which he has since transferred to his unique style. Melanie Stockman NIRO WANG opened in the summer of 2014, and shows twice per year at London Fashion Week and Paris Fashion Week. Click here to view the website.
