Designer Spotlight: RabbitRabbit! ‘Fem’ S/S’17 Collection Melanie StockmanMay 31, 201736 viewsFashion0 Comments36 views RabbitRabbit! is a Polish-Danish brand created in 2014. Since its inception, one idea has been key to the company – clothes are to bring joy. To achieve that, the unique designer created an original brand style through experiments with current trends. She plays with them by choosing elements that according to her, will bring people joy and highlight their character, individuality and inner magic. The designer draws her inspiration from the magical world of fairy tales. They are seen in the colours, connections of textures and patterns. Flower and animal motives, sheer, soft fabrics, and romantic shapes are dominant here. The details are also important – handmade embroideries and applications, colourful patchworks and carefully selected buttons, ribbons and other edgings. The eclectic connections in a retro style, often eccentric and exceptionally quaint, eventually do well – they can evoke positive emotions. While creating collections, the brand follows the “Slow Fashion” philosophy. It pays attention not only to the quality of the materials used but also attaches great importance to the way in which the clothes are sewn. That’s why it works with a small, local workshop where experienced tailors sew their projects with attention to the most minute details. The newest collection is a perfect example of the road the brand has taken – experiments with trends focused on the feminine nature. Fem. is a world of two elements – bold patterns and distinct colours next to sheer fabrics and female accents. In the newest collection, you can easily find the current trends, translated to the brand’s language. An oversized coat in a bold, juicy fuchsia colour. A suit – instead of long pants, the jacket is juxtaposed with shorts, instead of the classic black and white stripes – black bow ties. Strong colours and geometrical prints have been lightened by “slip dresses” – sheer tulle skirts, delicate white shirts and lacy blouses. All of it creates a coherent and balanced image, where women’s nature gets the main role – their eccentricity and courage to break barriers, but also their peace and romanticism.
