Drop Dead x Itchy & Scratchy collection Stephanie AndersonJune 22, 2014302 viewsdesignFashionStyle0 Comments302 views We’re sure everyone worldwide has watched this no matter the age, gender and background that person maybe. Named as one of the most well-known televised cartoons of all time, if you have guessed The Simpsons then feel free to give yourself a pat on the back (or rather, a bottle of Duff to congratulate yourself). It is in fact the longest running American sitcom as well as the longest running animated programme in the US. Every person would instantly recognise the familiar faces of the characters, especially the main Simpsons’ family, and the infamous jingle that plays at the beginning of each episode. Why do we mention a cartoon programme when this is a fashion magazine? Well, Drop Dead’s newest collection is inspired by just that, The Simpsons and in particular the cartoon that is featured in it. Furthermore, this collection is more of a collaboration with The Itchy & Scratchy Show as it displays plenty of not only the cat and mouse characters but also others such as Krusty the Clown as well as including printed written words from the program’s catchy jingle. Animated characters are not printed just once and pictured boldly on a t-shirt; outlines of their faces are repeated to create an attractive pattern on some pieces such as the leggings and jumper for women. These pieces are one-of-a-kind that are filled with fun and playful colours suitable for to wear for this season if you want to achieve that cool geek-chic look this summer. With internet culture being the basis of their influence, Drop Dead’s unique and high quality apparel and collectible make it hard to resist, especially as the majority of young people today seem to be highly entertained by the mass media that is the internet. Established in 2005 in Sheffield, England, the brand continues to take on inspirations from life on the road and an ever-evolving taste in music and art.
