Designer Spotlight: Dynasty Jewellery by Kamilla Thorsen Porcia AueSeptember 27, 201018 viewsFashion0 Comments18 views Design has always been a major part of Kamilla Thorsen’s life, it all started out from a young age sewing clothes, making handmade paper and creating jewellery made from vintage buttons with found objects. Years later, after completing a Jewellery course in Copenhagen Kamilla left her native Denmark and arrived in England to do an Art & Design foundation course followed by BA Printed Textiles & Business Studies in Brighton. Whilst on the course she started developing Jewellery collections to complement the prints she designed. The Dynasty collections are handmade original pieces springing from the designer’s own sense of creativity and originality. Partly influenced by the Arts & Crafts movement, Art Deco, Danish Design and Native American art and symbolism. Inspiration also comes from the study of insects and butterflies and the world of flora and fauna. As a designer and maker, Kamilla’s philosophy is to create classics with an artful and modern edge, developing original methods which are inspired by techniques used for centuries.
