Erin Templeton x Urban Outfitters Avery ParkerFebruary 8, 201517 viewsDesigner CollaborationFashion0 Comments17 views Our favourite bag designer, Erin Templeton has always produced quality handbags and accessories in her Vancouver studio and her most recent venture has been a collaboration with high street chain Urban Outfitters to produce one of her classic styles, the Mountain Mama, from vegan materials. Since 1999 Erin Templeton has been producing leather goods from imported cowhides and exclusive locally tanned elk and bison. A vintage buyer by trade, Erin has always found the masses of unloved leather inspiring prompting her to also use recycled leathers for the production of certain styles. Having yet to venture into the world of vegan leathers, her collaboration with Urban Outfitters allows for the debut of her first ever truly vegan product. Her classic style, the Mountain Mama, has been transformed with exclusive new details and produced in both camel and black vegan leathers. The Mama has been a popular classic for Erin Templeton. She hangs comfortably on your shoulder or, with its signature round bottom, sits comfortably by your side. Erin Templeton began making leather accessories in 1999, while studying shoemaking at Cordwainer’s College in London, England. She continued to study leatherwork in Australia, and once home in Vancouver, began concentrating on handbags. By 2007, her studio graduated from renting the boiler room of a local tailor shop to the actual tailor shop, where she opened her studio/storefront to the public in Vancouver’s historic Chinatown. Erin’s fascination with the past informs designs that aim to defy trnds. She uses minimal hardware and simple, strong construction which all people to adjust and make pieces their own. It is her hope that each piece is able to be a life long friend. Avery Parker The Erin Templeton x Urban Outfitters collaboration will be sold exclusively at all Urban Outfitters retail shops worldwide as well as online.
