Event: Frey de Fleur launch party with Rainbow Trust Sophie HalbertSeptember 20, 20148 viewseventlifestylereview0 Comments8 views If you read Freya Bromley’s blog, Frey de Fleur, you’ll be drawn in by its contemporary feel and informative approach whilst demonstrating a beautifully presented platform for creative content ranging from beauty to food. So when we arrived at the venue for the launch party, we felt like we were stepping into part of Freya’s blog. The Chelsea Jam Tree’s private Loft Bar area felt warm and inviting as we were welcomed with goodie bags and name badges. We were immediately attended to with our complimentary drinks tickets and whisked off to the bar for a Bellini. The room had a feminine feel to it with the word, ‘LOVE’ illuminated in bright lights on the brick wall and colourful pom poms hanging down from the beams. The loft space was buzzing and you could sense the excitement in the room as we awaited Freya’s speech. Freya spoke of the true reason we were all in attendance, not only was it about the delicious macaroons and cupcakes or the opportunity to network with like-minded people within the fashion industry, but the evening was to celebrate and raise money for the charity, Rainbow Trust. Rainbow Trust are a wonderful cause helping families with emotional and practical support during the challenging times of when a child is suffering a life threatening or terminal illness. Freya explained why this was a cause so close to her heart, in that her brother Tom, who was also in attendance, has been battling cancer. Freya went on to tell us of how the charity had helped her whilst she was away at university in providing continuous support. Freya explained of the impact that we could have as online influencers to do more with our blogs to raise awareness and bring about change. This incentive has led Freya to introduce the concept of ‘Fashion Conscious Blogging’, in other words, blogging with a moral conscience. This fantastic idea of incorporating fashion through ethical brands, charities, and fashion and beauty products that donate their profits to charitable causes is what Fashion Conscious Blogging is all about, and if you think about it, the opportunities within this field are endless. For all of us, we will have come into contact at some point in our lives with a charity that has helped us or someone close to us, therefore making this something that we can all become involved in, in whichever way we choose. After the speech concluded, we felt incredibly inspired and ready to mingle and explore what was going on around the room. We came across the delightful jewellery brand, Ottoman Hands. Based on Portobello Road, this company began with a stall at the market, and now has its own show room in Notting Hill. The jewellery is inspired by Turkish designs, staying true to the local Turkish gem cutters and artisans to create unique and striking creations. We were especially drawn to the crystal staking rings in an array of colours representing different birthstones. The warm colours of the stones and gorgeous circular shapes of the rings and necklaces were irresistible! The evening also included a silent auction, featuring one of Ottoman Hands’ pieces, a range of Paul & Joe beauty goodies, a hair appointment offer and four stunning dresses up for grabs. Despite so much on offer, the message of what we were really there for, to support the Rainbow Trust and Fashion Conscious Blogging was very prominent, from Freya’s memorable speech that commenced the evening to the lovely Rainbow Trust biscuits that were happily snapped up throughout the night.
