This year, WECANDANCE collaborates with some of the finest Belgian fashion brands, including Filles A Papa, Bodo Jewels, La Fille D’O and Hornof, with each brand invited to create a unique piece for this year’s edition, designed with this year’s festival theme ‘Space’ in mind. Festival guests are encouraged to dress in their finest intergalactic outfits inspired by the WCD’16 collection. Think sheer materials, glistening metallics, transparent plastics and splashes of eye-blinding white and silver. The WECANDANCE 2016 fashion partners are: Cesar Casier Born and raised in Belgium, TheCesarSalad blogger Cesar Casier currently works as a model in New York and has recently published his first book.. Obsessed with E.T. and Star Wars, Space has always intrigued him and he didn’t hesitate a second before creating his Spacey WCD T-shirt. La Fille D’O Belgian based independent lingerie brand, la fille d’O, was founded by Murielle Victorine Scherre in 2003, and has established itself as a luxurious, uncompromising brand, marching to the beat of a whole different drum. Space is possibility, it is to see beyond visibility. Space is what Murielle sees in her bespoke lingerie set for WECANDANCE 2016. Bodo Jewels Founded by Belgian designer and former top model Romy Roerman together with Allette Dorlan and Flores Puype, BODO Jewels creates high quality, handmade jewellery. With each collection, Romy creates little pieces of playful art, finding inspiration in everyday things like nature, architecture and poetry. Playing on the idea of Space, Romy created a moon shaped choker for WCD.. Be by Magali Pinchasi Magali Pinchasi grew up in a family of diamond dealers and jewelry designers and since her first product launch in 2012, the brand has rapidly expanded internationally. For the second year in a row, Magali Pinchasi was asked to design an exclusive piece for WECANDANCE, this year creating statement piece earrings, Filles A Papa Launched in 2009 by Carol and Sarah Piron, the brand FILLES A PAPA has its roots in Liège in Belgium. FILLES A PAPA is an attitude, a deliberate rebellious streak and a clothing line in which the word “contemporary” reveals all its paradoxes and sharpness, just like their jacket they created for WECANDANCE. Hornof With his diploma of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp in his hands, Hornof started working in Paris at the renowned fashion house MUGLER before launching his eponymous label HORNOF. Hornof loves futuristic design, which works perfectly for WECANDANCE in Space and let him to create a limited-edition sleeping mask, each with a unique hand embroidered appliqué made of cyberlox, a material commonly used by cyber-goths and ravers. Rombaut Mats Rombaut’s design is about modernizing our way of thinking and exploring different sustainable concepts. All materials and fabrics are sustainably engineered. Instead ROMBAUT develops plant-based materials and is determined to protect bio-diversity in our environment. The design of the socks is inspired by space travel and futurism.
