Fred Perry A/W’14: Authentic Collections Yasmin MahdySeptember 10, 201443 viewsFashionLookBookmenswear0 Comments43 views The end of the summer has a silver lining; shorts and sandals can now be replaced with stylish items of clothing from the Fred Perry’s new Autumn/ Winter Authentic Collections. Embrace the inimitable and inherent 60s inner tomboy with the clothing range that modernises tartan, incorporating it into the men’s line which is one of the highlights of the upcoming collection. The brand, originating from the beginnings of exclusive sweatbands redesigned into soft and pliable material, into the development of Fred Perry Polo shirts, now has launched into a successful and infamous brand, its logo recognisable in association with Wimbledon. From its original slim fit cotton pique shirt at its first launch, it is now both adaptable and influential in the world of ever-changing fashion, still connected to its roots as the Fred Perry shirt is still available. Currently, the Fred Perry Autumn/Winter 2014 Authentic Collections for men and women will be available at the Authentic Shops located at Cineleisure Orchard and ION Orchard. Appearing on styles throughout the collection is the Fred Perry tartan, from its classic use in the button-down oxford shirts and jacket linings to more directional panelled shirting and polo shirt styles. Other notable design elements from the range is the iconic British DPM Camouflage print, seen overprinted and mixed with classic gingham and check prints, additionally made in a unique cut-and-sew and mix and match approach to the fabrications and techniques. Inspired by the attitude and adoption of the British youth culture, it creates a timeless yet modern style. Incorporating its characteristic features with classic Fred Perry colours and prints, the range also sees the return of Drake’s of London this season. Integrating the colours of the upcoming season, typical autumn colours of burnt orange, dark browns and gentle burgundy, the Fred Perry women’s collection visualises and celebrates the chiller period. The clothing items includes polkadots, reworked in subtle tonal colour combinations with colour pop twin tipping with tartans also imprinted as with the men’s collection. Digitally printed and contrasted on both shirt and shirt dress styles, the look is edgy and fresh in the face of autumn. This print, also available on oversized bold polo shirts and knitwear, creates comfortable as well as elegant outfits. As well as edgy, the current collection also offers feminine and colourful outfits with floral prints. A new floral print, formed out repeating and overlapping Laurel Wreaths, will be introduced into the upcoming clothing feature. There will also be oversized penny collars in Stewart Tartan-inspired colours, and a capsule collection of accessories available to complement the range in monochrome oversized printed polkadots and shades of mahogany and maroon. Various levels of sophistication and elegance can be achieved with the brunette and tanned- coloured clothing range. Add in bold accessories, and exciting opportunities for autumn outfits are ready in Fred Perry’s upcoming collection, meaning the end of summer doesn’t mean the end of fashion.
