House of Dagmar A/W’15 Collection: ‘The Lady With The Veil’ Avery ParkerOctober 4, 20154 viewsFashion0 Comments4 views The Dagmar A/W’15 collection introduces shadowing and draping with inspiration from Alexander Roslin’s painting ”The Lady with the Veil”. The painting is a portrait of his wife Marie-Suzanne Giroust and is famous for her gaze, partly secretive and hidden behind her veil. This autumn Dagmar explores shadows and construction of draping where new dimensions and angles come into focus. Shadowing effects are found in the collections layered pieces, big hoods and shawls as well as in voluminous outfits with contrasting slimmed details. The three-dimensional comes to life through various lengths of fur mixed with lacquered materials and different structures of knitting. The silhouette is influenced by the oriental and the 1970’s, it’s based on the layer on layer principal with veil details and oversized outerwear. The silhouette is high-waisted, which is enhanced by short tight tops and voluminous pants and skirts. The collection features both shiny and matt materials in different colours and includes multifunctional elements such as a down parka where the bottom part can be zipped off. The colour palette carries various shades of white and grey with key colours of rust, fudge and blue including silver. The key colors as well as the geometric and plaid prints draws inspiration from the 1970’s. This season Dagmar has extended the accessory line with several new handbags. In collaboration with Tärnsjö Garveri they’ve created beautiful luxury handbags, featuring colours and prints from the collection – all produced in Sweden and made of organic leather.
