The other week I came across this fresh looking print by Hvass&Hannibal who have designed a print for Marimekko called Kaiaka, which means ‘shadowed sea’ in Hawaiian.

It can be found on three items – a dress, a shirt and a skirt – the styles are all designed by Mai Ohta, in-house designer at Marimekko.

The fabric is cotton satin, Marimekko’s classic cotton quality, and it is printed on rotary press beds at their factory in Finland. Hvass&Hannibal is a multi-disciplinary arts and design studio based in Copenhagen, set up in 2006 by its founders Nan Na Hvass and Sofie Hannibal.
