Iben Høj S/S'13: Classical knitwear - The Clothes Maiden Magazine

Since 1997 Iben Høj has worked with the design of knits and has experimented with effects and textures.

With a working method whose goal is originality, she constantly seeks to advance conceptions of what knits can do and what they are.

Iben graduated from Brighton University with a First in Fashion Knitwear – hardly surprising when you take a look here. Høj draws inspiration for her work from diverse influences including nature, art and craft.

Drawn to the architectural beauty of the natural world she finds inspiration in botanical forms and structures found in plants, flowers and seed-heads as well as gossamer insect wings and feathers. She also treasures antique and handcrafted textiles, and has a deep appreciation of the effort, time and love that has gone into hand worked garments.
