Interview: Achraf Amiri – illustrator

Please tell us a bit about yourself Achraf?
My name is Achraf Amiri, I was born in the late 80’s, Brussels born child and hidden son of the Addams Family. Dark but loves a bit of fabulousness.

What inspired you to begin your artistic career?
Since the early ages I’ve been creative, I believe it’s meant to be my destiny.

What do you do when you’re not using your creative brain?
I’m either eating or sleeping.

Do you have any favourite artists out there?
To many to be mentioned, I’m generally in admiration when artists are authentic. Symbolists and Pre-Raphaelites are usually the ones I’m looking at.

Who’s your personal style icon and why?
I don’t have a specific style icon.

Do you have a favourite piece of artwork?
James Ensor and Leon Spilliaert’s works.

Any exciting projects in the pipeline?
I recently launched ILLUSTRASHION MAGAZINE — ISSUE #0 “MYTH”.

How do you see yourself in five years time?
Alive, hopefully.
