Interview: Maria Klimko – Artist The Editorial TeamJuly 1, 201568 viewsArt0 Comments68 views Tell us a bit about yourself Maria? That’s the most difficult question. I am very passionate about life. Perhaps, too much. Sometimes I am overexcited and can’t control emotions. Makes me feel wild. Now I am learning how to control it and to find a peace and harmony inside. I believe that life is not only about being yourself. Everyone is born with a purpose and is able to make the world a better place. When did you start creating art? Since my childhood I was perfecting my skills in different kinds of art starting from sculpture to costumes and photography, but my drawings demonstrate my feelings, thoughts and vision in the best way. The best way to share my vision and passion for the world is through paper, brush and paint. What inspires you to create such interesting/detailed artwork? At this stage my main inspiration are women. Their movements are like a melody and their appearance is very natural and sincere. Their uncontrollable emotions make them wild and insane. Very beautiful creatures. Do you have any plans for the future? I feel like it’s time to give something to this world and be as useful as I can. I am seriously thinking about travelling to a Third World countries and do some volunteering work. What do you do in your spare time? Enjoying life. I spend most of the time doing some sketches and drawings. Living in London I try to explore this incredibly beautiful place as much as I can. And of course, spending evenings in the company of my dear friends and a couple of glasses of wine. Who inspires your personal style? I can’t spend a minute without listening to music, which is one of my biggest inspirations. Music like Nina Simone, Billie Holiday and Ray Charles. Whenever I listen to it I find something new and inspirational and their music definitely influences my personal style. Have you any favourite artists out there who you look up to? I am absolutely in love with Egon Schiele’s works. His drawings are so fascinating. If you appreciate works of pure beauty I suggest you visit ‘Portraits of Vienna’ at the National Gallery. No doubt he is one of my favourite artists. Click here to visit Maria Klimko on Facebook to view all recent artwork.
