Kami Shade established herself as a designer in July 2004. Hailing from a background of music, fashion was always an inspiration. After college Kami wanted to move to California and make her dreams of being a designer come true. Upon her arrival to LA, Shade was essentially homeless, jobless and without family in her new stomping grounds. More determined than ever Kami began to work. After just one month of production, Kami feature her designs in various Hollywood events and even landed a fashion spread in a local publication.  At this point the company was running like a well oiled machine and Kami Shade let her passion of fashion lead the way, of a budding career. The company was built with intense enthusiasm from ready to wear and swimwear looks.

Her flamboyant fashions are the epitome of “glits” incorporating lots of tinsel and gleam, her line is very Hollywood. She creates high end couture and has dressed Jennifer Lopez, Mariah Carey, Rihanna, Kim Kardashian and Jessica Alba to name a few. Kami Shade offers a perfect mix of high fashion, the customary look of current trends. The brand is a perfect example of a luminary brand that is feasible to the everyday fashionista; with price tags usually ranging from £40 to £70. One thing that stands out about Kami Shade is the company size chart. Yes Kami Shade offers plus size, and is probably one of the fewer brands to do so. In the world of fashion a size 6 to 8 (US) is usually the limit.

After that, bigger beautiful women are forced to less fashionable brands as styling options. You will usually never see personalities such as a Kardashian or Joan Smalls in the same company as plus size fashion. The brand also offers a collection of graphic tees for men. Kami Shade has broken a barrier and wants women of all sizes to feel and look fabulous. Due to diversity of volume, Kami Shade has a specific technique of contour that makes for great fashion. The brand of Kami Shade may not be as exclusive as others but has proved to stand in the same league. With features in Tinsel Tokyo, OK! Magazine, London and New York Fashion Week along with a stunning editorial in W magazine. The story of this fashion house is an inspiration to all creatives alike.
