Karen Mabon A/W’14: I Wished It Would Never End Stephanie AndersonJuly 29, 20140 viewsdesignFashionStyle0 Comments0 views For Autumn/Winter 2014, Karen Mabon presents a brand new accessories collection entitled ‘I Wished It Would Never End’; a unique look at the American Dream through the eyes of a British Teenager. Karen Mabon was inspired by her own adolescence and the popular references she imbibed when spending many rain-drenched school holidays immersed in American films, books and television. A far-away plastic land where the weird and wonderful are celebrated and embraced. Karen captures Stateside scenes in hand-drawn illustrated scarves printed on luxury Italian silks and wools, as well as accompanying enamelled jewellery pieces. Karen’s colourful collection takes us on a unique road trip through the land of opportunity, starting at the World Poodle Grooming Championships, stopping by the Beverly Hills Hotel Pool and finishing up with an unforgettable night in Las Vegas. After studying at Edinburgh College of Art, Karen attended the prestigious Royal College of Art in London. She went on to work with many top names including Margaret Howell and set-designer Fred Butler. Establishing her eponymous label in 2012, her work received instant recognition with a raft of stockists around the world, coverage in titles such as Vogue and Grazia.
