Kattri: Geometry collection Sophie PrescottJanuary 27, 20154 viewsFashionJewellery0 Comments4 views Simplistic yet innovative, the striking designs of jewellery brand, Kattri, are finally getting the recognition they deserve. The latest geometry-inspired collection has already been featured at last 2013’s London Fashion Week, and now the future looks bright for the brand. The brains behind Kattri is Amanda Gerbasi, who is not only the creative vision behind the brand but her own businesswoman too – and she wouldn’t have it any other way, “when you see your achievements and things moving in the right direction it is very rewarding,” she explains, “I don’t think it could be more rewarding if I was working for someone else, as this brand is my vision.” Gerbasi’s vision is both personal to her own experiences, yet universally chic at the same time. After moving from Brazil to the UK to study, the jewellery seems to echo the edginess of British fashion but with the gemstones sourced ethically from her home country of Brazil. Gerbasi’s own experiences, such as her education in architecture, have clearly influenced her collections too, bringing together geometry and intricate structure with bespoke fashion. The most recent ‘Geometry’ collection consists of simple yet effective designs, playing with shape to create truly original pieces; for example, both the quadrant and polygon rings are chic, modern alternatives when it comes to choosing fine jewellery. So where did the inspiration come from for such an iconic piece in the collection? “I have a tension set diamond ring my parents gave me on my 21st birthday,” explains Gerbasi, “which I love because I see practically the whole gem. I remember thinking ‘it must be possible to do something similar with other gemstones’. I just wanted to see different angles of gems and didn’t want to have claws taking the focus away from them. I wanted a clean way of showcasing the gemstones.” The geometry collection is the result of her vision – clean cut and contemporary, yet pieces that can be worn no matter your personal style. Other standout pieces include the dodecahedron necklaces and earrings, incorporating intricate designs alongside delicate gemstones to create aesthetically stunning jewellery. So if you’re looking for fine investment pieces with a modern twist, take a look at the range Kattri has to offer, for minimalism at its most finest. Sophie Prescott Click here to visit the website.
