Kayasis A/W’14: La lune de l’amour Sophie PrescottDecember 1, 201438 viewsFashionInspirationLookBook0 Comments38 views Step into the whimsical world of Kayasis this season, whose A/W’14 collection incorporates all things kitsch with a contemporary twist. Inspired by forest wildlife, the Thai brand has unveiled their playful assortment of dresses, coats, accessories and more; the range is varied, introducing a number of colours and cuts throughout the collection, but all with the quirky woodland motifs in common. Half of the collection consists of light, frosty pastels and is illustrated with enchanting butterflies, toadstools, foxes and deer, taking inspiration from the forest in winter – these are wonderfully ‘cutesy’ pieces that could easily be worn into spring, acting as a brilliant transitional piece. Elsewhere, we have pieces inspired by the forest at night; these come in dark navy and black and are adorned with owl motifs as well as striking florals. This interesting contrast is where the collection really stands out. From slouchy jumper dresses to adorable butterfly print co-ords, many of the pieces are instantly wearable – either to be worn casually with thick tights and boots, or dressed up for the party season with a pair of pastel heels. Alternatively, there are some unusual designs if you’re looking to impress. Sharp collars are a running theme, as a quirky addition to many of the tops and dresses, as well as cut-out panels and mesh inserts which gives the range a unique edge. A stand-out piece is the mesh panelled skirt with floral detailing, which updates a retro midi cut to an ultra-glam statement outfit.
