Welcome to the Kinky Octopus, a British swimwear apparel label with a fresh twist. It’s British founder, Lucy Haine, had the ingenious idea to bring the beaches of Rio de Janeiro to us here in the UK, or at least the swimwear trends which grace its golden sand. Haine, who is married to a Brazilian, is another eBay success story. Starting in 2010 The Kinky Octopus has taken the world by storm with its luminous colours, bold patterns and even bolder designs. The line has successfully brightened up many beach goers experience with its unique take on the iconic Brazilian hemlines, Mara Hoffman, Agua de Coco, Cia Maritima, Movimento to name of few of the brands patrons.

The iconic designs take inspiration from landscapes unique to Brazil, again making us feel as if we are part of the crowds on a busy summers day on Ipanema beach. The selections of styles accompanied with their unique patterns, and also having the option to mix and match your bikini sets make The Kinky Octopus a force to be reckoned with. They are catering to all your summer needs, not only with regards dresses, kaftans, and bikinis, they have also branched out into footwear and children’s beach apparel. As genuine Brazilian design and craftsmanship is clearly part of The Kinky Octopus’ ethos, it is not much of a surprise that they would team up with one of the most popular flip-flop sandal company in the world, Haviannas. If you are looking for something a little different, the Brazilian label also stocks beautiful, handmade 100% leather sandals with a recycled tyre sole. As summer 2015 will not be long closing in, the great news is that The Kinky Octopus are due to launch their new collection in March, giving us plenty of time to pick the pattern and style to suit our beach season. The collection will produce new bright patterns of the lush flora and fauna of Brazil and also will release new shapes and sizes to cater for the demand for bigger sizes for UK curves.
