Kirsty Ward A/W’15 Collection: Contradicting Elements Porcia AueApril 25, 20158 viewsFashion0 Comments8 views Autumn/winter 2015/16 is Kirsty Ward’s 10th collection, with inspiration coming from purposefully contradicting elements, texture and layering. Ward continues to work with jewellery embellishment techniques weaving their way through accessories to garments, making this key to the brands aesthetic. For a new take on embellishment this season, Kirsty has introduced crocheted bobble hats, with colour blocked stripes and cute oversized pom poms that have been embroidered with flocked beads and crystal clusters. Sporty elements continue to feature in fastenings, fabric choices and construction details. A clashing colour card of light pink, red, browns and black set a base for the interesting texture combination of lightweight British wools, glitter infused knits, airtex and heavy check wool. Further key styles from the collection include: half belted coats, trousers with short and skirt overlays, back fastened shirts, multi fabric colour blocked dresses and T-shirts. As a signature of the London designer, statement aluminium wire looped Jewellery remains a focal point. This season gold framed minerals, 3D mesh balls, tassel clusters and colour blocking are key to the multi-tiered necklaces, pendants, earrings and bracelets. The handcrafted jewellery styles are finished off with sporty plastic buckles that also run through into the womenswear. For AW15/16 Kirsty Ward and Williams Handmade have continued their collaborative relationship with a fifth bag collection to date, that comprises of four cubed bags of various sizes. The colours are a mix of light pink, red and brown which are embellished with tassel clusters of crystals, coils and large bubble gum pink coloured beads.
