Kitty Joseph S/S’14 Stephanie AndersonMarch 28, 20144 viewsdesignFashionStyle0 Comments4 views Drawing inspiration from nature with her individual designs is Kitty Joseph, a Royal College of Art graduate with fresh new designs on the scene for this summer coming up. Her experience is vast for her age, with a degree in Textiles and also having worked as a colour consultant for countless international fashion brands, trend analysis for leading trend prediction agencies and her permanent position as a uni course teacher for fashion textile and print design, so there is no doubt of this collection will be the height of fashion for the warmer weather. Her signature ‘Post Digi’ print expresses the freedom of her movement in artwork, with abstract designs that are consistent throughout her collection. The theme of the wilderness is shown through the collection, with a bamboo-like leaf print being the reoccurring design, then a burst of purple star print decorating other items. The clothing is sectioned into four times of day, with Midday, Afternoon, Dusk and Night Sky Palms, which adds a new idea to the way clothing is designed. The other main theme of the clothing is the base colour of Blue, fitting perfectly in with the summer/water/beach/love this clothing theme. The clothing drapes off your frame, leaving the carefree summer look to do all the talking. With flowing skirts paired with high neck structured jackets, or a side one asymmetrical skirt with a bikini style top, every look can be dressed up or down to leave you with the perfect summer outfit. The collection transports you to more relaxing place, reminding the wearer of the simple idyllic pleasure of warmer weather, and the good doesn’t stop there, she has also brought out a selection of printed tees with her renowned designs and colours decorating them. When it comes to summer, all we’re asking for is a good tan, good weather and good clothing. At least we have the latter covered. Tamara Massey To view the collection click here.
