LC:M – Ada + Nik A/W’15: Noir Desir Bailey MossJanuary 11, 201540 viewsAW15Fashionmenswear0 Comments40 views Dark Matter Rebellious British menswear brand Ada + Nik closed the first full day of London Collections: Men with their heroic autumn/winter 15/16 runway show ‘Noir Desir’. As a brand with a DNA rooted in creative rebellion and brand innovation, the Ada + Nik A/W15’16 experience at ME London Hotel also included a star studded front row, live installation, wearable tech and the premiere of the brand’s latest film ‘Noir Desir’. Having entered the world to critical acclaim in June 2013, Ada + Nik has been described as “the most refreshing new menswear brand to emerge in recent years”, “ones to watch” and “the future of menswear”. Both statement and luxury, AW15/16 ‘Noir Desir’ embodies the darkest desires of the twentieth Century gladiator, reflecting an evolution of the brand’s signature outerwear including Italian leather bikers, geometric bombers and longline coats referencing the notion of Greco Roman meets 1970s British Punk culture. Ada + Nik A/W15’16 separates are reformed into experimental shapes offset by layered velvet sneaker net, showerproof tech fabrics, crease free memory cotton, sustainably intelligent cotton ribs and luxury airtex – all of which form the nucleus of the collection. The unveiling was synchronised with the premiere of the film ‘Noir Desir’ by Haus of Magdalen and Ada + Nik, starring Asher Flowers, Lucas Valerdi, Serghinio Wooter, Alex Santos and Charlie Aprahamian with visuals by Ljubba. History was also made when Ada + Nik unveiled the ‘Narrative Jacket’ – the world’s first leather jacket with in-built camera, in collaboration with the Narrative Clip to capture photos and location data without conscious interaction, truly breaking the fourth wall in the art of storytelling for the first time – something intrinsic to the Ada + Nik identity, catering to a metro-techno hypebeast fan base. Photos taken with the jacket were uploaded exclusively to Twitter. Ada + Nik also featured Moto 360 timepieces from Motorola on the wrists of models. Handpicked by Ada + Nik for the show to compliment the dark matter aesthetic of the brand, the Moto 360 device functions with Google’s Android Wear operating system. The Moto 360 was also heavily featured in Noir Desir, the film. The Ada + Nik AW15 runway show, styled by Nicco Torelli (Wonderland Magazine), also featured luxury noir headwear by BLAQZINQ and jewellery by Thompson London. Guests also enjoyed monochrome cocktails by CIROC, steak canapés by STK at ME London Hotel, a dark matter, 6 foot square, architectural black cube/concept prison installation by Claire Luxton exclusively for Ada + Nik AW15. The show was live illustrated by Achraf Amiri on the front row with a Montegrappa pen. Bailey Moss Photos: Chris Yates Click here to visit the website.
