LC:M – Baartmans and Siegel A/W’15: Daily indulgence Avery ParkerJanuary 11, 20152 viewsFashion0 Comments2 views British design duo Baartmans and Siegel previewed their A/W’15 collection in the BFC show space at Victoria House this morning. Key members of press and VIPs were among the first to see Amber Siegel and Wouter Baartmans latest collection which features, for the first time, a capsule collection of women’s outerwear. Breakfast was served to all guests on arrival, catered by Maison Blanc and Bear Nibbles. The genesis of the collection came from revisiting European active-wear and Ski-utility clothes and combining that aesthetic with the brash and exhilarating Dutch gabber scene. A/W’15 offers a brazen attitude to statement dressing; flourishes of bold, masculine colours like cardinal red, admiral blue and parakeet green add drama to base tones of white and charcoal. Track and field jackets are woven in striking colour block jerseys. Woven abstract check wools are realised in exaggerated Harrington’s. This collection has been created with a focus on sublime details. Breathable nylon linings, French hand–woven storm cuffs, detachable Scandinavian fur collars, fine cotton knits, Italian wools, bespoke hardwear, brushed flannels & generous ergonomic quilted pockets. The capsule collection of women’s statement outerwear focuses on premium craftsmanship, exploring traditional construction of sustainably sourced and origin assured furs, created in partnership with Kopenhagen Fur. Every piece is sourced in Scandinavia and has been developed and specifically coloured in Italy, hand sewn and carefully constructed in England: celebrating artisan techniques, with a relevant and desirable twist.
