Huntergather the quintessential British brand launched their autumn/winter 2015 menswear collection at their branch on Wigmore street in Marylebone. The brand that has an emphasis on quality, key pieces showcased an impressive and innovative collection with more experimental items as well as some great key pieces for the season.

This particular collection was referred to as the ongoing moment. A celebration of the 70s, ‘the difference between psychedelia and digitalia’ was the mantra of the show. The show was held in their Wigmore Street branch and was packed full, and included a few famous guests including David Gandy and Oliver Proudlock, out to see the collection.

Guests sipped on botanic juices and feasted on croissants and mini granola fruit cups and were also free to indulge in some sweet treats at the in store coffee shop. The show was set in a delightfully minimalist backdrop allowing all focus to be on the clothes.

Under art deco chandeliers bespectacled models strolled down the makeshift catwalk to Harry Nilsson. Adorned in everything from classic camel coats to lavish metallic snakeskin print suits. The overall collection had a definite nod to the 70’s from the hippie to the hipster.

This was echoed in the black and white psychedelic print shirts and matching trousers and camel shearling jackets. In terms of accessories and footwear, razor thin belts and square toed loafers were the focal point. Again the 70s inspiration could be found in the bootleg trousers and wide lapelled camel jackets, most of which stayed in a palette of beige, navy and grey.

Although the brand has established itself for its key, classic pieces, this particular autumn winter collection featured a lot of items aimed at the modern male fashionista. One’s not afraid to take risks and look to the past for inspiration.
