The Fashion International Spring/Summer 2015 show located in the Whitehall suite of The Royal Horseguards Hotel saw eight different designers from around the world and their collections for the forthcoming season. Picasso was a strong influence on Lenie Boya’s collection. Beautiful silhouettes graced the catwalk with block primary shades. Picasso styled faces were printed on the gowns giving the look a very artistic look. Boya envisioned to create wearable art fragments and he did just that. Delma Poonawalla, an Indian born designer was first to grace the catwalk amongst eager onlookers. The sound of Avicci boomed through the room as the collection strode through. Accents from her heritage such as the prints and cuts. There was strong embellishments throughout the collection to complement the fine leather detailing seen throughout. Valdini Angels’ ‘Be Unique’ collection was full of surprises from paisley hareem pants to a full blown feathered finale. Highlighting women’s femininity and glamour. Elegant gowns, soft chiffons the accent of velvet was what we saw from Wajahat Mirza. The gowns were fit for a ball; classic red, emerald and black shades appeared on the catwalk after an all white introduction. Sharon M Osbourne’s collection was very fresh and young with a nod to the sixties. Fun accessories were seen with floral sunglasses and waist belts. Floral printed two pieces were the highlight. The colour palette for Wajahat Mirza’s latest collection is full of rich reds, greens with white and black, inspired by the colour transition from day to night. The elegant collection is presented in soft fabrics; chiffon, georgette and velvet to create movement. Daniel Syiem’s collection was very much inspired by the North East Indian heritage yet he managed to showcase a western twist on the look. The collection was heavily focused on his passion towards Eco-friendly clothing. Exotic prints and beautiful jewels were seen in Omar Mansoor’s tenth collection at London Fashion Week. A very glamorous collection with encrusted gems and jewels embellished onto the chiffon and silk gowns. Rachel Simpson For further information on the collections visit here.
