Lu La Loop is a fashion brand by that focuses mainly on knitwear and is based in London. Launched in 2012, pieces are inspired by the lifestyle and culture the youth carry as well as music trends.
Lu La Loop has recently become into a multi-product fashion label with elements of futuristic and playful luxury. This can be seen in its latest collection which features an array of shiny materials, fuzzy and warm-looking fabrics, giving the nostalgia feeling of travelling back into the 60s when spacesuits and futuristic looks became the norm during that fashion era – introduced by French fashion designer, André Courrèges.
Lu La Loop has dressed artists and singers such as Grimes and Bjork to note, suggesting that music is one of the main inspirations for both the collection and label. Globally, technology is vastly advancing and it is true that there are now more people who own phones than there are homes with toilets, which is rather worrying in reality, but we seem to be attached to what technology can give and benefit us.
This is definitely defined in Lu La Loop’s collection. On a personal note, it reminds me of K-Pop fashion, especially in music videos and performances where fashion is second to the actual music, that has an attractive feel and an eccentric, retro and electric aesthetic which we love.
