Most websites, including FELLA swimmers, have a custom line or two to suit a variety of sizes and shapes, even you DD girls out there!  There are so many ways to wear a bathing suit that the choice can be headache inducing, So we’ve done the research for you and have compiled a comprehensive list of what you are likely to see this sunshine season!

STYLE: Less is More

First thing we are noticing, and loving, is the cut-outs! Have you ever just thought; “hmm,  needs a little more side boob”? Well, designers have you covered, or as we like to think… uncovered! You don’t need to just show off the ladies either, as there is a tasteful cut-out for any body out there.

Be it in the front, back, or sides, geometric cut-outs are hitting beaches hard this December. Feeling a little more daring? We’re also seeing a fair number of one-pieces with plunging necklines that are just about enough to stop hearts!  If you’re aching to accessorize, try adding some cute beads or an over the top hat for that polished flair. Yes, it’s attention seeking, but you deserve attention!

A Top Throwback!

Another great trend breaking through from last season is super cute high waists stopping just below the belly button. This style is classic, flattering, and super adorable, not to mention fantastic for those who like to mix and match their tops and bottoms. Pick yourself up a simple high waisted pair of bottoms and then shop to your heart’s content for that beautiful statement top! We guarantee you’ll feel like a fashion superstar and all eyes will be on you! Not to mention, you can’t beat a high waist and a crop top for an effortlessly finished look.  

Colours and Patterns

When it comes to aesthetics, we are moving away from patterns and going for a more elegant, vertical gradient look. Be it soft blues or monochromatic greys, we think you’ll be a sultry sea princess for the whole season to come. In contrast, solid colours will always be a bold statement, with burgundy and mustard yellows being prominently featured. When choosing your swimwear, blacks, whites and navy blues will never be the wrong choices! We expect the navy and white will be incarnated in the form of wide vertical stripes this year!

Just Do What Feels Natural

The great thing about fashion and swimwear is that, if you choose to ignore what’s happening this season, you always have that classic pin-up or sailor girl style that is guaranteed to hit the right note, whoever may be looking. The classics never die, so taking your high waists and adding a rose pattern is sure to make a statement.

Working with that cut-out idea; getting yourself a gorgeous one-piece with a small diamond cut-out over the bust will help you highlight all the right curves.

In our opinion, fashion is what you make it! It changes and flows, and who knows, maybe you will be on to the next big thing! The most important thing isn’t being ‘on trend’, it’s feeling sexy in whatever you choose to put on your body, so give it some flair or a twist and do something that is unequivocally you. Add a wrap or a loose knit top, maybe a gorgeous sun-hat and enjoy yourself. After all, that’s what summer is for!
